WE ARE YWAM SAN JOSÉ
We exist to raise up and equip passionate followers of Jesus who walk in obedience to the call to disciple all nation and move int the power of the Holy Spirit to bring His kingdom into every sphere of society.
The vision for YWAM San José was born in 1999 when God spoke about a community of young people between the ages of 18 and 30 who needed to be reached in the nation of Costa Rica. In July 2004 we began the base, and in 2005 we started our first Discipleship Training School (DTS).
Currently we run 4 DTS’s a year, and the following Secondary schools: Foundations in Community Development (FCD), School of Worship (SOW), Principles of Children and Youth Ministry (PCYM), Bible Core Course (BCC), and the Islamic Studies Seminar (ISS). Once you have completed DTS you can apply to be full-time staff with YWAM as well as apply to any secondary schools within the University of the Nations, at YWAM San Jose or any other YWAM location around the world.
Our training programs
Each school is designed to awaken a passion for Jesus, His Word, and knowing His character with the goal to equip the individual with the tools necessary to transform nations. Contact us for more information about our schools.
Along with our training schools, we also reach out to Costa Rica through the the ministries of Bibles for Costa Rica, Of Broken Wings Productions, Homes of Hope, Mercy Trucks (medical ministry), and by hosting short-term mission teams and outreaches from other YWAM locations.
Youth With A Mission (YWAM) is an international movement of Christians from many denominations dedicated to presenting Jesus personally to this generation, to mobilizing as many as possible to help in this task, and to the training and equipping of believers for their part in fulfilling the Great Commission.
As citizens of God’s kingdom, we are called to love, worship and obey our Lord, to love and serve His body, the Church and to present the whole Gospel to every person throughout the world.
Statement of Belief
We at Youth With A Mission believe that the Bible is God’s inspired and authoritative Word, revealing that Jesus Christ is God’s Son; that people are created in God’s image; that He created us to have eternal life through Jesus Christ; that although all people have sinned and come short of God’s glory, God has made salvation possible through the death on the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ; that repentance, faith, love and obedience are fitting responses to God’s initiative of grace towards us; that God desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth; and that the Holy Spirit’s power is demonstrated in and through us for the accomplishment of Christ’s last commandment, “Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature…” (Mark 16:15)
