YWAM SJ MINISTRIES
Through these ministries, we desire to see God’s transformation in every sphere of society.
Homes of Hope
Homes of Hope (HoH) provides homes to families who do not have the resources necessary to build their own. We help meet people’s basic needs, thus enabling them to lead productive lives. A safe and healthy home greatly impacts the family’s economy, education for the children, health, social and emotional wellness, and spiritual being. Entire families and communities are discipled as we work alongside local churches and leaders to transform lives through providing homes.

The Bibles for Costa Rica movement works to see the Word of God placed in every one of the 1.3 million homes in our Nation. The project is overseen by missionaries serving with Youth with a Mission in Costa Rica and carried out by the local church and believers from all over the world such as Central America. We briefly visit each home, give the family a Bible, and pray for them. Our goal is to place a Bible in every home and community in the Nation.
A group of professionally trained and licensed YWAM volunteers disciple the youth in Costa Rica through sports. We are currently focused on reaching out to the community of Pavas, where the youth live in the midst of an environment with rampant violence, drug abuse, poverty and social risk. Through Hope Sports we help the youth dream while we instill in them values and principles from the Kingdom of God as part of our local volunteering.
King’s Kids mobilizes, equips, reaches out and cares for children, youth, and their families. One of the ways we do this is through hosting regular weekend camps for local children. We desire to lead them into their destiny of knowing God in a proven way, bringing Him joy, and making Him and His Kingdom known through voluntary work. We partner with local families and churches so that successive generations will learn to know, love, trust, and obey God.
Mercy Trucks is a medical and dental ministries used to declare the Good News in word and deed to those we serve. We also work in the area of disaster relief. Most of our ministry is done through an ambulance which we adapted into a medical and dental unit, helping families, refugees, children, the indigent and others. In this way we are able to reach rural villages in Costa Rica and provide free dental and medical services to those who have limited access to medical resources, in poverty and social risk.
Of Broken Wings
The goal of this project is to use storytelling, video, and photography to create awareness of social risk and injustice while inspiring others to act against it. As christian missionaries, we have gained entry to non-Christian venues and countries through volunteering abroad, where we otherwise would not be allowed to share the gospel. Of Broken Wings released a documentary that reveals stories in each country in Central America that produced awareness to the region about the truth of human trafficking and child slavery, among other social risk problems. Our latest production sought to give a voice to the voiceless through sharing stories from refugees affected by the crisis in the Middle East.
University Ministry is to Mobilize University Students on the campuses in Costa Rica and other Central American Countries to God’s purposes for their lives in knowing Him and making him known through their life’s work.
We help students with various mobilization events for Christians and non-Christians to impact the education area and other spheres of the society with their knowledge and talents from a biblical worldview in their own countries, in other parts of the world as well through mission internships and other projects integrating field of study with opportunities to meet global need through volunteering abroad.
